About the event

For 250 years, America has stirred the imaginations of artists and dreamers. Join the Austin Philharmonic and the Bullock Texas State History Museum as we celebrate that legacy through music, from the sweeping plains of Copland's Rodeo to the era-defining ragtime of Joplin's The Entertainer to the joy of Sousa's buoyant marches. The concert also features the world premiere of Taking Flight!, a brass fanfare by the Austin Philharmonic's own Kitty Draper. Come celebrate 250 years of a nation that keeps inspiring.
